'Goal!'

This portrait was inspired by two little boys who ran into my studio one day after they saw me painting a commission of another athlete through the window.

They were so excited and they told me that I just “had to paint Zlatan”. I was compelled to listen to them, so here it is.

I made the underpainting using acrylic and alcohol inks, spray paint, and thicker layers of acrylic to create interesting visual texture.

I then painted the portrait with oil paint to give depth and a timeless glow to the portrait of Malmö’s very own super star.
