'Pineapple Express'

SEK 3,000.00

Mixed media, 50 × 70 cm

This piece was created by rebuilding three separate original pieces into one new composition, combining an acrylic painting of a pineapple, a textured pineapple collage, and an ink abstract on archival cotton rag.

I’ve always loved pineapple, not just because of the sweet fruit, but esthetically I find them very beautiful. Even the way they grow is interesting. Have you ever seen a pineapple shrub? It’s cool.

Historically, pineapples were symbols of wealth, luxury, warmth and hospitality. They were rare treasures that represented abundance and status.

Eating them also repels mosquitos. Don’t quote me on that one, but I’m sure I heard it somewhere on the islands.

The piece comes framed in a black frame with a passepartout, giving space for the textures, torn edges and layered materials to fully breathe.
