Mixed Media Collage, 70 × 50 cm
‘Determination’ is a collage made by layering abstract mixed media paintings with on archival cotton rag with a strip of rattan and charcoal figure drawings that came about from the many ‘croquis’ sessions in my studio.
The figure in the background is a study of one of my lovely students holding a 10-minute pose. I called it ‘Determination’ because it’s inspired by my student - the youngest in the class, but always determined to learn, do a good job and be the best. This idea is complimented by the stick figure on top of the passepartout that appears to be coming out of the picture and pushing the frame. It’s like it’s pushing the boundaries.
The piece comes ready to hang in a cherry wood frame.
